OLIVER SUMMER SHOW

Postby calvin innes » Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:51 am

Did the Oliver summer show take place? Was it good? Did it rain? Were there dancin' girls? I have not heard anything and was not able to attend. Anyone got pictures? I had every intention of going but there were a lot of relatives visiting pretty much through all the month of July.
Thanks guys,
Cal

Summer show was real good. Rained Friday and the pulls were delayed. I only saw Olivers, Whites, Cockshuts and Minneapolis-Molines. About as good as it gets.

Maybe it was just the way I walked through the show but I saw a lot of 2050 and 2150 Olivers at the 2011 summer show

Thanks for the reply! I am sorry I missed it. I am going west soon and plan on going to the Rollag, Mn. show while I'm out there. Yeah, I know it isn't all Oliver but it will have to do!

BuckeyeJoeG, My friend and I thought there were a lot of the "big dogs" at the show and like you said, 2050's and 2150's. Lots of 4 digit stuff. A really good show.
Did you happen to notice what year the WHITE truck was? I got a pic but when I went back to look at the year it was gone.

The Dover, Ohio show a couple of summers back (2009?) had a lot of the larger tractors also, including 2 of the 2655's and around a half dozen of the 2255's. If I recall properly, the latter were the featured tractor that year..... doesn't matter the size, they are all interesting to me!

When you go to Rollag you are going to be about 50 miles West of me. I would say stop in and say Hi but we will be in Mt Pleasant IA that weekend.

Steve,
I heard about the Mt. Pleasant show. I am going out to Larry Harsin's place earlier in the week to pick up a harrow. I think he is planning taking a couple of tractors out to that show. I am sort of torn as to which show to go to but my son is up in Crookston, Mn. and he will come down to Rollag to meet us. They are in the middle of wheat harvest but he figures he can get away.

I personally feel that Rollag has one of the best shows in the USA. They are geared more towards steam and the smoke can get pretty thick at times but it is a must see for any fan of antique farm equipment. Have fun!
