HPOCA Summer Show

Postby calvin innes » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:58 am

Did it happen??? Were you there? I haven't heard a peep here about the summer show. did anybody see an Oliver? I sure would like to hear from those folks who attended the West Lafayette, Indiana show. Was the food good? Did the weather cooperate? Did you take pictures?
I wish I could have made the show, but it just wasn't in the cards for us this year.....we both retired in April so we no longer have time .
Looking forward to next year when life won't be so nuts.

Cal,

I can safely answer yes to all of those questions. I plan on uploading some pictures later this week, I should have more time by then.

My family had a good time. A good number of four digit olivers. Already looking forward to next year. Does anyone know what hotels are on the list for next year? We are planning a trip to Hershey while we are in PA.

I haven't gotten any hotel info yet, but Landis did mention Hershey and Gettysburg. There is a lot to do in that area.

There really was a good variety of tractors at West Lafayette, and the banquet was great food, and the speaker was hilarious. You missed a good one Cal.

Hi,
Thanks so much for the replies! I was sure it was a good show....I just hadn't heard much chatter on here about it. I wish I had gone...I could really have used the break.

Hi Chris,
Just got back from Maine....that moving to Maine thing, you know!
I just saw the pictures......great pictures! Thanks so much for posting them. It looks like nice fairgrounds too. It's good to see so many implements, I think sometimes they sort of get overlooked at the shows.
Thanks again.

2010 HPOCA summer show

Postby BuckeyeJoeG » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:31 pm

Hello all,

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Does anyone know what the HPOCA "offical" hotel will be for the 2010 Summer show in Iowa? I want to make our reservations but want to stay close to the show and the dinner.

We are not sure but we may tow our travel trailer out there. If the dinner is at the grounds the TT may be the best way to go.

Rodeway Inn....

is what Chris Losey has been told. It is probably no more than a mile or two from the show grounds.
I've been told the dinner will be at the grounds. I'm sure more details will be in the Jan/Feb magazine.

Buckeye Joe,

If you've never been to Mt. Pleasant, there should be plenty of camping with hook-ups. Plus you can ride the rails to the show grounds! WB<><.
