1946 Oliver HG42 Dozer

I am considering purchasing a 1946 HG 42 Barn Queen. It reportedly has been been stored for over 40 years.

I am considering using it for 1) clearing brush and some grading of pasture and 2) farming. The machine has a rear 540 RPM PTO. The owner doesn't know about any auxiliary transmission. He says he had used it to push dirt.

How was the crawler used for ag work? Does it have or was there a way to install a 3 point to lift a plow , etc. like a normal tractor?

It it can't lift, what implements were used? How could the crawler cross a road, go over a culvert, etc. if it was dragging a plow or cultivator?

If the crawler doesn't have an auxiliary tyranny people report it can't be slowed down to grade. Can someone post a picture of an auxiliary tranny or describe what to look for?

If it can't lift an implement how can I move the implements around conveniently without a tractor and the crawler?

I am very confused. I don't want to buy a barn queen. I don't know about these machines.

Most of the crawler tractors did not have a 3 point hitch system. They used the same pull type implements as other tractors of the period. Plows were pull type, either hydraulic lift or ground driven trip type. It would be more difficult to do fine grading work without an auxillary slow speed transmission, but I don't recall seeing one factory fitted on the hg series, might be wrong.
