magazine delivery

Postby Terry » Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:41 am

Has anyone received their Nov/Dec magazine yet? No one here in central IL has that I have talked to. I know that they were mailed on Nov. 3? I understand that the printer has been changed, and that would probably mean the mailing location also, so maybe that is the problem. Mine always used to come between the 10th and 12th of the month, always the same day as Antique Power. Just the last 2 issues have been much later. Just curious how this has affected anyone else.
Terry.

Terry,

The Nov/Dec issue has seemed to move slow this time around, and I don't know what the problem is. I'll do some asking around and see what I can find. I do know that as a periodical, each post office that handles the magazine can take up to 4 days to process it. First class mail goes first. And I have found each post office is as different as each postmaster that runs it.

Anybody that hasn't been receiving their magazine in a timely fashion, please post here. It will help us if we can figure out what parts of the country are receiving the slowest service.

Hi,
I received the latest issue early last week here in Maine.... Good issue by the way. I was pleased to see the internal views of the 525 combine on page 38....never saw such a thing before!
Hope all have a good Thanksgiving.

Here in west central IL (Galesburg) area we still haven't recieved our magazines yet(today is Thanksgiving). I called a member about 50 miles north and he had his sometime last week.
I assume his is routed through the Milan Post Office while ours is through the Peoria branch.
Just hope it gets here in time to VOTE!! LOL

Chris--no magazine here yet as of Dec. 2. I have talked to 5 other guys in our general area, none of them has received theirs either. Looks like guys 40 miles north of us received theirs about 2 weeks ago, and guys 50 miles south got theirs a little over a week ago.

We threw a bunch of replacements in the mail today, based on what Jim Thurnau told me on the phone last night. I've got the good people at Ertel Publishing chasing down the problem from their end of things too. I'll post more when I know it.

Also, we are having some troubles with our phone line today. The phone company is working on fixing it, but if you're trying to call and don't get through, keep trying, as it works as long as we catch it on the first ring.

I talked to Jim again last night, and it sounds like your magazines are finally coming through. My guess would be that someone in the postal system set the bag going to your area to the side for awhile.

And our phone line is working properly again.

Most of the missing magazines showed up Wed and Thurs. Mine was delivered today, Sat the 6th. That's ONLY 33 days. LOL
My thanks to Chris Losey for his efforts.

The November/December 2010 issue went in the mail last week. Some people have already gotten theirs, but it can typically be 2 weeks. When did you join? If you missed the cut-off for when the mailing list is generated, then your first issue will be the Jan/Feb 2011 issue.
