How am I getting hyd oil mixed in with the rear end oil?

Most likely the seals in the PTO unit are bad. Where are you in Northwest Ohio? I am there too.

Seals in the PTO is the most likely culprit. Get the quad rings instead of orings when reassembling. Supposedly the quad rings are supposed to come up when looking up parts for it, but the last one I did had one quad and one oring show up.

Doesn't happen often and I only know of one person it happened to, but the metal stamping that separates the hydraulic housing from the transmission housing and acts as a reservoir, had a crack in it and was leaking hyd oil in to the gear oil.

Maibach's in Creston OH (800-808-9934) have a kit they make up themselves, quad rings and considerably less than OEM AGCO. Don't forget to order the two tiny o-rings between the main housing and pto assembly that go in cut out areas in the gasket.

If you look up the rings in the 2-105 parts book, it gives the dimensions for all of the quad rings that go in the PTO clutch, plus the regular o-rings as well. I took all that to my local bearing/seal supplier and they got me everything I needed for about $15. Put them in a 1755 and mowed hay with it all summer last year.

4 150 hyd oil down in rear end

Postby Bingomaster » Sun Nov 23, 2014 9:38 pm

I keep losing hydraulic oil into the rear end oil. Ive replaced the o rings under the reservoir and it still leaks. If the seal is bad on the pump could that be the cause? or is it something else? Any ideas would be appreciared.
