Seeking expert advice to restore 1938 Cockshutt Hart-Parr 80

Postby R Smart » Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:32 pm

Hi I am currently restoring my 1938 Cockshutt Hart-Parr 80 which as you know is a rebadged Oliver 80.

The tractor is fitted with a generator and starter.

Now I already know prior to 1940 the were the same colour of Green as the Oliver 80 but what colour should the wheel rims be Orange or Red?.

I am in Scotland but I am trying to source quality parts in either the USA or Canada, I have found a wiring harness and a foot starter switch.

What I am still looking for is the following can you advice to where I can the following quality parts as I am restoring to concourse top show condition;

Set of three gauges (Amp Meter, Oil Pressure, Water Temp) yellow face with Oliver specifally for the 80 so the capillary tube length on the Temp gauge is correct

Small cut out button/switch that I believe fits on dash between oil and temp gauges

6V Cut out for generator

Ligth switch to regulate charge from generator

18" keyed steering wheel with center cap that is bolted on

Here is links to photos of the tractor

I am also looking for confirmation that the throttle fitted in the pics above is the correct early type I had read somewhere that they early 80's had a different throttle

Can someone supply pics of an early Cockshutt Hart-Parr 80 showing the decals with won't have the maple leaf I believe. I also require photos of the light switch position and how the battery ahould be secured pics of the bracket/fixing etc. Any other pictures of another 1938 Cockshutt Hart-Parr 80 would be most welcome.

Very nice Cockshutt 80 you have there, as for the wheels they should be orange because my grandpa has a 1937 Cockhutt hart parr 18-28, and the wheels are orange.
