oil level in the transmission of a 550.

Could someone tell me how to check the oil level in the transmission of a 550? I have oil leaking from the PTO inspection plate that I think is coming from a seal in the front of the transmission. I guess I could still use the tractor if I keep it topped off but I don't see where to check it.

Fluid level for the transmission final drive is checked by removing a 3/8 inch pipe plug to the right of the PTO shaft. There are several drain plugs. 5 gallon of 80W-90 gear oil would be the capacity.
