Oliver 550 manual...How to check fluids?

Postby eddievalleytrailer » Wed May 11, 2016 12:47 pm

I bought a "manual" for my 550 on E-Bay which appears to be only 1 of a set of books. It goes into great detail of transmission disassembly but not one word about general stuff. Where to check hydraulic fluid? Transmission Fluid? Differential Oil? I have pretty much figured everything else out. Everything seems to work ok, but I don't know much about this tractor. Any help appreciated.

The best place to get your Oliver manuals is The Floyd County Museum in Charles City IA. They have a web site but it is best to call for manuals. There are owner manuals, parts manuals and shop manuals. You probably purchased a section of the shop manual, there are people trying to maximize their income by selling the shop manual in sections instead of complete. The price of a complete manual is about $400. It not only includes the 550 but all Fleetline tractors Super tractor and 3 digit tractors.

I hope this helps.
