Oliver 500 dsl 3 point bleeds down when in full up position

Postby The Mean Fish » Fri Dec 11, 2015 11:42 am

I'm trying to figure out a few quirks on our 1963 Oliver 500, it's been my Dad's tractor since the early 80s but he's never bothered to figure out the issue with the hydraulics because all it's ever done is mow grass. It's a 62 diesel Oliver 500 and when you put the 3 point hydraulics in full up position it'll lift correctly then begin to bleed down, then at a certain point it corrects itself and lifts again only to bleed down. It jumps over and over again. I see there are knobs and adjustments on the 3 point system but none of us knows what they are supposed to do.

I've ordered the operators manual for the tractor, I'm just wondering if there's something I can begin working on before I find the documents.

Thanks in advance, here she is still on the trailer. She's rough but runs like brand new and has never really given us any major trouble.
