Help identify my offset Oliver

Postby brmtdg » Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:08 pm

Recently purchased an offset Oliver row crop. Can not decide whether it is a Super 44 as the serial tag says or is it a 440 that has the wrong tag on it. Since the plate unbolts they could have been swapped in its past.

The serial plate says model 44 sn# 1 6844xx. But I can find no evidence of red paint on the wheels and nose is a very faded white, no yellow under neath.

Can not find a good documentation on what the differences are between the models. If someone could point me to a link that details the differences it would be appreciated. I know some Super 44s got repainted to 440s colors. I posted some pictures of the overall tractor ,steering column and frame around the oilpan since someone mentioned these are points of difference.
If someone who is familiar with the Super 44 and 440 could be of some help it would be greatly appreciated.
Any comments or information will be greatly appreciated

Frame around (sides) oil pan is a 440.
Cannot remove oil pan with eng. in tractor- can remove on supper 44.
